Petroleum Forensics

Our expertise derives from work at petroleum terminals, refineries, and most service station franchises in over 30 states, with most of the established environmental firms in the country. We serve our clients with the site-specific treatment of subsurface petroleum forensics investigations of gasoline, light to middle distillate fuels, intermediate refinery products, crude petroleum products, MGP tars/residues, solvents, biodiesels, and renewable fuels. Whether you require chemical source characterization, differentiation, or time of release estimation at your Site, CQ will efficiently support you with collection strategies, analytical methods selection, delivery of laboratory data, and expert data interpretation and communication with your litigation team.

Subsurface Release Investigations

Regarding surface fugitive releases, our expertise stems from work on some of the most significant fugitive release projects and environmental data sets, including the Deepwater Horizon Incident, Refugio Beach Oil Spill, Bayou Corne Sinkhole, San Francisco Bay Sediments, Passaic River Sediments, among numerous smaller-scale projects for fugitive release investigations of light to middle distillate fuel oils, intermediate fuel oils, condensates, ultra-light to heavier crude oils, and MGP tars/residues. In addition, most of our surface release experience sets required engaging on the environmental forensics piece with multidisciplinary teams aimed at consultation related to contaminant risk assessments and remediation concerns. Thus, at its core, CQ is adept and ready to seamlessly integrate with your team to guide all aspects of an environmental forensics project, including fieldwork, laboratory methods strategy and logistics, design of data analysis strategies, and expert interpretations and litigation support, including expert testimony.
